Samples used in this tune from the NY subway this summer. Inspired by Dave Dunseath
3-12, just uploaded a new version of this with guitar- and some other changes
ha! thanks for the comments guys. The car passing that POS on the highway was a viper- I just love that sound.
Norm, ill be hanging out with the wheels tonight if anyone cares to join me.
PS, and yes I could hear you smoking along with the engine on smoke break.
Stop that, or I will take your bull-horn away and go hang out with the wheels.
"Late for the late shift". "The seats are out of cash". I just love that.
I'm laughing at the sounds of that crappy engine attempting to turn over... it's strange to hear those sounds in the absence of some rather colorful language!
Hey, and there ain't nothin' wrong with 100bpm.
drip by drip..
I did the guitar and bass tracks first, then procured my 10 year olds cello for the main bass line :) I also tried my luck playing cello with a bow on this track- which was a new experience.
The trumpet and violin bits are played…

This song is not for everyone but I like it because its a live recording with a single instrument using infinity delay FX. (I turned on the loop delay at :09 after the guitar was flat on the floor.)
All the sounds are made with an acoustic bass…
Norm played the percussion first, which is a Bembe pattern; I couldnt help playing a melody and creating lyrics for this perc track. Thanks for the listen, Enjoy!
I have issues at my house, sometimes they manifest themselves in my tracks. In this case, the bassoon and oboe represent the mouse. The guitar is the peanut-butter.
This is a recording of Norm and me playing together a few months ago. I didnt have any percussion instruments so Norm was on a Roland electric trap set and I had a cello. I looped some of the stuff we did that night, and retrofitted the rest…
this was originally a song about breaking through paradigms but turned into a song about a girl.
Keys and string samples from Korg, MIDI with the old Ensoniq,
one diving board.
Thanks for the listen ,enjoy... RW
An experiment with quarter tone tuning.
I tuned my guitar: low E (normal tuning)
A (quarter step up)
D (normal tuning)
G (quarter step down)
B (normal tuning)
high E (tuned D then quarter step down)

Deadlines, freeways, appointments, things to do lists, expectations, getting older, not enough hours in the day to get everything done? ..... make each day and moment count! Thanks to Dave Matthews for a lick I threw in there. Enjoy!
This is an absolutely beautiful song written by Jon Foreman for his side project Fiction Family and I felt like givin it a shot soo I just kinda learnt it and threw it together theres a few flubbups but they kinda workout well in the end
enjoy :)
When love is no longer enough....
Stay Awake
I hear every little sound,
Every breath, hearts beating,
They're breathing....
See the passion in her heart,
A witness of her fire,
Desire....
I feel myself drifting off,
The pillow…
Caveat emptor: I did absolutely none of the drumming in this piece.
ANOTHER WORLD PREMIER! FIRST RECORDING OF THIS PATTERN - EVER!
My friend Kokou "Alex" Yemey delighted me with another visit this evening. He played "Aju" - all 5 tracks…
a collaboration of Alister Flint - Carlo Serafini - Chris Vaisvil
so, Chris did this. Carlo did that. and i added some. for the technical stuff, see below. :)
This piece uses multiple tunings simultaneously and is the inaugural…
Everyone has a first time....
This is an "out-take" from the You EP. Written in 2000 it was not finished as far as it is until 2005. Being lazy I just adapted the original rough take I made so I would not forget the song.
There are a few electric…
The first time we played this tune, the drummer and I played it, spontaneously, almost exactly as this recording documents. But we'd never heard it before, had no chart, Kelly was just playing it on the bass and singing a bit, and our parts just…
