First one for RPM 2011. This track has existed in my head to a greater or lesser extent for years but never got round to recording it. Now I have. :)

Please note that this particular version is dedicated to the wonderfully talented…

Just letting out my frustration at 'people' in general again.. nice to be able to vent it in a more pleasant way (for those interested in how I used to do it, please see http://alonetone.com/boynamedsu) :)

Evening old boy - I've done something fairly bizarre with this track. When I first got hold of the cd, before I had acccess to the lyrics, I completely misinterpeted (and mis-heard) them. I've written down what I thought I heard, which makes the words come from the point of view of a manipulative (and probably abusive), but slightly ashamed partner. I'll let you have then sometime, for interest. (Probably the greatest insult you can ever pay a songwriter!)

done back in april and originally intended to become a jemima's kite song but we got sidetracked so for now it stays a solo venture. my inner puppy needs to let it be aired.
Take my hand
And count to ten
And count to ten
Then let go…
i'd love to do stuff like this. feel like its a tad beyond me. But may give it a go in due course soon anyway. to hell with it! Very pretty. and captures a sort of clumsy/foolhardiness n all.
Reg was out tonight on the dance floor doing his thing and saw this beautiful women doing her thing......well if that doesn't make a song what does?
YOU GOT SOMETHING I NEED (Lyrics)
Baby you got something about you
You got something special…
no guilt clean slate no guilt
clean slate no guilt clean slate
raw deal dealt by me today
goin to church it will be okay
say a prayer in a quiet voice
drink some coffee and rejoice clean slate
no guilt clean slate no guilt
clean slate…
this is my absolute favourite song at the moment. commercialy released or otherwise. Currently following the wife round the house singing it at her. She likes it too. But would rather choose when she does and doesn't hear it. Tough I say.. I need to practice as I want to do it some kind of justice when I get round to covering it.:) She says its got an American Records era Johnny Cashness to it. I tend to agree. Just plain shit-hot (british for outstanding)

Striking vocals Alex. Spirited tune... Was that a distorted kazoo lead? :)
