Hey, I was just describing the love of my life. The girl I write all those sad songs about...gone, 13 years now and she is still ever-present in my thoughts.

I say "first" because I've found another one, When I Try To Be Me, that Mrs R says I have to do too... but that's unlikely to be the next one I post because I'm working…
I'll try again. lost the comment. I said, I love the clean guitar and vocal. Why don't we ask more questions. We make such lousy assumptions. Sometimes e find out too late.

Love is always a teeny bopper thing. You capture it here. I have learned never to dismiss a song just because someone dismiss it, too. I had no idea how beloved I PLAY C would become. And thank you for listening commenting on my Shorts.

Nice song. Like the stop up at 2:00. Pretty intense. I’m laughing a bit about the name ‘lament ‘which obviously was supposed to be ‘the practical gardener’. That sounds familiar with my stuff too., lol. 15 years can put a new perspective on almost anything. Cheers.

THIS is the song that Mrs R and I had decided was a suitable response to a request to "Upload something HAPPY, stat!!!!!!!!!"
I tried to record it back in 2013 when I wrote it…
A tale of keeping your head above the water, or not...
Recorded Jan-Feb 2011.

I intended to record this with just an acoustic and my new EDB (electric upright bass…

Jan 17 2015 - Remixed. I was always kinda disappointed with what the original mix sounded like. Listening to it the other day I realised what it is - I'd mixed the vocals too loud. This reduced the "stereo" and killed off a lot of the life…
Another lyrically-challenged collaboration with jip1965, who sent me a guitar, bongo, percussion track with a recorder playing named, simply, 'Love'.
I added the piccolo, crystals and windchimes from my virtual keyboard, renamed it 'What is…
Yeah :)
Like lots.
Love jip's guitar signature on this, so smooothh. And I can hear the sun setting outside the tent, and the pillows, lots of pillows.
Er... or is it an entirely different sort of love? (Why have we only got one word in English??!)
Love it. "Lyrically challenged"? Pah! needs no more for this listener :)
Had written this one many years ago. I had it recorded originally in a different key and with different instrumentation but it I just was not happy with it. I deleted the original lyrics for the chorus and added a bridge section and lyrics. I…
Woo... not heard this before. It's wonderful. I don't want any backing on it at all, I want it like this...
If you do end up with a backing - and I'm sure it'll be yum - but pleeze do not take this one down :)
you know they say you have to write some rubbish before the good stuff comes out?... Entirely Garageband, not a live instrument on it but it was clogging my head up.
So are you saying this is part of the rubbish or the good stuff? lol
Sounds good to me. Love the chords and harmony. And then the bass line in the middle eight... I'm always a sucker for a falling bass line.
Woo... I heard the original, but hadn't noticed that the search for the lyrics had been successful - must have been asleep or something at the time...
Like it :)
Had to reload this one to get it to the top of my list. Just had news ezfolk Mp3 section is to close down :( Looks like I'm here to stay !!! I found alot of fellow musicians on that site, many who are here now, any way, here's to Ezfolk, au revoir…

Love it. I'd love to hear how you were originally trying it as well. It sounds like a song that could benefit from all sorts of approaches (well, what song couldn't). But I like this string arrangement.
cover of the pink floyd song
dr alfredo de pietra on guitars and myself on vocal duties. a slighty different mix from the two versions at songcrafters.

I've been trying to put another one of Mike's poems to music, but not getting anywhere.

Comments on Andrew Russe's stuff
Hey, I was just describing the love of my life. The girl I write all those sad songs about...gone, 13 years now and she is still ever-present in my thoughts.
Oh man, Andy, will you stop breaking my heart?!
It's so warm, the music reminds me of Elton John's recordings.
Very emotional song, loved the fuzz guitar and solos!
I'll try again. lost the comment. I said, I love the clean guitar and vocal. Why don't we ask more questions. We make such lousy assumptions. Sometimes e find out too late.
Great clean guitar and vocal. How oblivious we can be. We make assumptions. Why don't we ask more questions?

"I want you to be happy I long for you to be free..." That scares me. It sounds like, "Goodbye." Love the clean guitar sound.
Love how you g from the simple to the huge...great guitars. And the lyric, so intense.
Yes angular ,like the twist of it
How did I miss this ....superb!! 10 out of 10 sir ...
this is really moody and really well produced. dark and and Pink Floyd vibes.
Nice song. Like the stop up at 2:00. Pretty intense. I’m laughing a bit about the name ‘lament ‘which obviously was supposed to be ‘the practical gardener’. That sounds familiar with my stuff too., lol. 15 years can put a new perspective on almost anything. Cheers.

Nice one. I'm getting "happy" from this too - still with an underlying "something else", though lol
Superb. Utterly brilliant track. Not my usual kind of thing musically... but it dragged me in... and, well, wow...
Oh yeah, a FINE version. I'd NEVER have guessed that The Band was the next on the list lol What's next???
Oh crumbs, this is brilliant. It's a bit of a stunner...
Ohh it's totally fabulous. A superb lead vocal performance, blissful to listen to. And I'm with La Savage on the backing vox - they are gorgeous.
Like how this one skips along. And I love the sentiments :)
