i like where this takes me and i would love to know what you are using to generate the sound scape. i need to get some software with the kinds of controls that generate these tones

Incredible! So creative! I had no idea you existed until Patrick El Meliani sent me the link to his page "polymood," which has two of your songs on it. Wow!

love the bass... love the claps, taps...wow.. I am really impressed with this album so far. this stuff inspires! so fluid... and not the least bit banal for a 12 minute track... it's constantly moving. you guys pulled it off.. the violins at 05:30 are so awesome. I hear a bit of dissonance in there too. Shit, I might as well be reviewing your album with these lengthy comment chapters. good stuff... You guys really made something special.
I like the overall idea but I have a couple suggestions for the lyrics. First, it's a little clumsy; I've never heard "401k" sound poetic. Second, you sing about a character who's lost his future, but you don't show how this happened. Especially in light of the "401k" and "faceless concerns" lines, the picture that I'm getting is of a guy who's been trapped by his own choices, both productive (career) and consumptive -- while this absolutely can be a compelling story, it has to told, and with some introspection. Jess used to tell me, "Show it, don't say it". I think the key album to listen to for songs of this sort is Bruce Springsteen's The River, especially the title track. For all his characters that have lost there futures, there's a story.
Sorry if I'm being a lyrics snob, it's just what I am. Thanks for writing about these ideas, it needs to be done.
New stuff has been slow in coming for me lately, but I found this lurking on my hard drive from a while back. Frankly don't remember how I did it except that it was all live to 2 tracks and at one point one of my synth patches glitched out on…
this song speaks of the putting aside of guilt and walking hand in hand with my inner self into each and every day...rejoicing.
I've worn the robe of the guilty
i've let this tyranny take me
to the bottom of the ocean
no more will i suffocate…
Another one recorded "live on the fly", so the sound quality isn't great. Also some tonal support from SonicMood program.
Pileus is a cap-like structure, like on a cloud or mushroom.
Wow. This one gives me goosebumps. The melodic line, the backing rhythm, those OMG weaving vocals... Wow. OMG keeps making me feel like an amateur. Yowza. k
"Tell Me Ma", was featured on National Public Radio's Second Stage. As NPR put it: "Beatnik Turtle is a remarkably prolific and fiercely independent rock group based in Chicago. The eight-piece band includes a full horn section and has been making…
I'm learning to play piano and my teacher has given me 'Old Joe Clarkes Boogie' to play. For 2 weeks it has kicked my ass. But I'm getting to grips with it now and this is my revenge!
The musical parts were recording using my Kurzweil SP3X…
From today's one hour session:
acoustic guitar, fretless electric bass, tabla, tambourine, and the synthesque sound is the electric guitar played with a violin bow
more morning underwear recording/remixing sessions.. this one a bit depressing maybe? I recorded a noisy thunderstorm in the morning last week and yesterday recorded guitar played by violin bow. The result is this messy and hopefully evocative…

I'm learning to 'listen' to the 'flow' of life all around me and not get so caught up in little things that don't really matter.
Learning to enjoy! Life is good...
The river runs
and i look into it
i see myself
in a million faces there…
Comments on another cultural landslide's stuff

Very poignant - a 21st century parallel to Phil Ochs.
Love the organ and the way the lullaby weaves in and out!

Eclectic, provocative, cool, new, beautiful; a wonderful list. Love the rhythms in this one.
