A couple of nice reels played on guitar, the first is The Cup of Tea, can't remember the name of the second one. Unfortunately my midi flute scratch track got added in the mix…

I believe there's a demo version of this tune that I've already uploaded to alonetone. Originally written as a piano piece.

A quick little improv. Too lazy to grab a guitar so just used the lap steel. I think it still has the same strings on it from…

Rachel, you are my hero...
This is the first tune for my 2010 RPM Challenge.
A bit short...my first attempt earlier in the evening (completely different tune) I ended up scrapping at 1:30 a.m., so this one was done in just a few minutes...

Doug: You have such a great trademark sound. I've never heard anything quite like it... it's always a snap to recognize your pieces as I listen to random AT radio. Many thanks for you beautiful postings!
I excel at disappearing for long stretches, eh?
I think with this I'm officially committing to doing FAWM.
And R.I.P. my songwriting drought. August 27th, 2009 - February 1st, 2010.
If that's what it takes to come up with some this nice, then I guess a few long stretches are ok, eh? Man, Nice...I love solo piano and this one's just lovely.
A moody solo acoustic thing that I came up with playing in a long forgotten tuning. Just got a new Zoom H4N, so this was recorded in my shop sitting at my reedmaking bench may 12 2009
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
You call that noodling around? That's some mighty fine noodling, Mr. Lynch...and yeah, DADGAD never gets old, though I still have a love for EBEGAD too.

Our sun is in a long, cool, quiet period right now. But average ocean temps are the highest ever, and polar ice and glaciers are melting at an alarming rate. Something is going on here.
Man, that's cool. Curious what apps you're using? I've been buying a bunch of music apps for my iPhone but I never seem to get around to using them. I was gonna try and do a "CDs" worth of iPhone app music at some point.
So one too many coffee's and I have insomnia, I decided to mess about with my prototype sequencer Rytme and one of the Logic piano presets (Piano Motion).
I came up with this piece (in the key of A Major) which is rather repetitive (a quality…
Several years ago I had a short lived duo with an oboe and English horn player named Nat. This is a demo from that period. It's an old old chord progression of mine that never really had a melody and Nat improvised this melody in the studio to…
Sweet - glad to see you digging things up from the archives. I seem to remember you had that duo...unless it was pre-1990 or whenever it was we first met.
Experimenting with my piano/keyboard skillz and a first attempt at record clapping. Needs a good go over with some quality drums and some better arranging. Everything sounds very "synthy" on account of I don't have any quality VSTi at the moment.
This is one of my first ambient tracks, and it's been made up largely of sounds I've captured on a handheld recorder over the last five or so years.
Dark, and more than a little creepy.
This is maybe the first track written entirely by This Caustic Autumn as a group effort. I'd been to see Sigur Ros play at Massey Hall in Toronto the night before we wrote this, so that's where the idea for the bowed Les Paul came from. Other…
From the archives. Traditional Irish slow air. Myself on the Uilleann pipes with synth backing. This was recorded at a concert here in Weston back in I think '92. Originally recorded on an ancient 4 track machine and then transferred to cassette…

Beautiful! That'd get a big hand down our local!
a friend recently explained that you can recognise a hornpipe by imagining you are dancing and one of your legs is shorter than the other!

Love this one, man. Note to self, improve my recording technique so that sound at least half this good...
