This is a live cut from an NPR radio broadcast back in 1988 while my Irish Trad group Scartaglen was on one of its first east coast tours. Found recently on a cassette tape. Musically this was one of my favorite periods in the history of the band…
Another Live performance with former band mates in Scartaglen back in 1988 on the NPR show Mountain Stage. This time a piece of Gaelic mouth music followed by 3 reels. Maybe the most complex arrangement of a set of tunes that we ever did.
Maybe I missed a career scoring for no budget spaghetti westerns, because this is what this reminds me of. Done live a couple weeks ago with the Taylor and a floor full of toys and loopers.

Nice! In terms of textures and space, it's a little like some of Bill Frisell's work. The foreground guitar has a nice, natural, non-piezo-acoustic-electric sound that is appealing.

This track is from the 1986 Scartaglen album "The Middle Path". The first tune "Jezaig" was composed by Breton musician Gilles Le Bigot. The second tune is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and is attributed to King Alfonso X of Spain

I'm digging this. Reminds me a bit of the Valley Of the Giants album "Westworld".
The backwards guitar is awesome. Was that done in post or was it all live with a pedal? If it's the latter which pedal did you use?

Another collab. Words by Gordy Macdonald. Music by yours truly.
You said you hate me when I sing
So I scream myself hoarse for you
Until my voice breaks like the morning
But I'll never hate you too
(Chorus)
This is where I'd tell you
All that…
Not my usual trip, but here I can still hear the influence of the older guys like Sabbath, though you make them sound like a bunch of boy scouts! Nice!
Slack key guitar and baritone ukulele.
Before modern Honolulu, there was a small 700 foot wooded island often populated with musicians and people with romance on their minds. Progress has overtaken the scenic island, but it is remembered in…
Slack key guitar and tenor ukulele. Hula version.
This song is about a home in Lahaina, on the island of Maui. Surrounded by fragrant flowers, coconut trees and the ocean shore, it is filled with happiness. The meaning of the two words Pua…

Left over audio from "How to Glu"
This one is about power and resistence.. which I find to be quite sexy when I think about it.
Instrumentation: distorted and clean acoustic guitar, swords, tabla, synth, drum programming, clapping, vocals.
WELL....I wrote this song waaaayyy back when.
I was NOT happy with the mix at all. BUT, all I had money for was a two track studio, AND ABOUT AN HOUR OF TIME.
A good music friend of mine said it reminded him of an old live radio show. Like when…
A song written for my dear old friend, Kirk Lynch, who I've known for almost 20 years. For those who don't know, Kirk and I live less than an hour apart, but I swear it's been five years since we've seen each other in person, which just ain't…
A raw, gritty Chicago-style blues composition with open and honest musicianship, interesting chord progressions and soulful vocals.
From Soulganic's debut album "All Directions Forward".
This is one of my first ambient tracks, and it's been made up largely of sounds I've captured on a handheld recorder over the last five or so years.
Dark, and more than a little creepy.
I told the [good Sister](http://alonetone.com/sistersavage) that I wanted to try using vocals in a track and she offered to do me some abstract, stylized, vocals that I could play with and this little number is the result.
Working with wet (pre…

Great stuff! The screams are a very ominous way to keep the beat :)
Very nice. Great flow
Wow! I'm normally not into acapella, but that intro got me hooked until the instruments came in! Awesome piece!
Great tone, very full sounding! Did you mic an amp, or was this straight into a computer?
Spooky sounds and good playing!

Amazingly beautiful piece, Kirk..!!!
Instantly faved!
I'd have you score my crazy campy psychedelic westerns. Well, if I had any. Diggin the reverse guitars and overall atmosphere.
very esoteric!certainty feels like walking on a trail in solitude
Grand piece of Gaelic music. Great vocals. Great playing. I expect Fiona Ritchie to return after these messages.
Loving the vocals.

just beautiful!
Great to see you posting new tracks- Thanks. Bits of this one remind me of blues taken out of a smokey bar and put on a sunny beach.
Haunting- Moody and beautiful!
Damn this is heavy! What did you run the acoustic through to get that distortion sound?
Wonderful harmonies! Great arrangement
A lot going on here! I really like the harmony guitars!
It does remind me of a live radio show- not a bad thing! I've read a million of those books!
Had to have another listen- thanks again man!
I'm a sucker for Chicago blues. Love it!
Damn! This rocks and grooves at the same time! Love that acoustic guitar break as well
