I wrote this song after listening to some fine Italo Disco. I love the focus of those songs. It's strictly melody. Always melody. Lyrics are an after thought. Sometimes I feel like that for my music. This song is a break-up song about someone…

My girlfriend came to the music store with me yesterday to get my new delay pedal and she patiently waited while i checked it out.. so this is dedicated to her.
Musically, I tried to create a rhythm and texture using only natural harmonics…

i love this song, it's sort of along the lines off mobb deeps "shook ones" as far as beat wise but lyrically, we are in a different dimension coming soulful and poetical!

These lyrics are quite old - I originally wrote them about 10 years ago in the form of a "poem", in order to troll a vanity publisher. I always wanted to set them to music, and they happened to fit the drum loop and harmonica piece I was working on.
Uploaded
Managed to slip another one in for FAWM. Started as a little doodle with a wacky module chain coming off of a single microtonal synth - much of the loop here is just that. Was too catchy to ignore.
Probably the most blatantly Actress-influenced…

I was practicing and decided to record and improvise - after a transformation to Just Intonation in Melodyne here is the result.

I've been waiting so long
On a world you couldn't see
But it's time I stop writing love songs
For the girl you never were or wanted to be
Uploaded
So you wanted your freedom
What from the past were you willing to take?
I'm sure you had your reasons
Too many promises you swore you'd never break
The world that you know is not coming back
Maybe it's time you start burning the tracks…

This one goes through my head a lot. :)

"Cabbage Face" was one of the "what words can we spell only using A through G?" chord sequences we came up with during the Spice Rack Collective recording sessions at the Mixing House in Milford, MA. I used it kind of a lot when I got back home. :)
Uploaded
Looped and mangled field recording of my coffee grinder, toaster, and environs. I sneezed during the recording, so of course I had to use it. :)

I love MIDI, I love FL Studio, and I'm fond of Cabbage Face. :)

Looped and mangled field recording of the shower in my hotel room during my work trip. It's a walk-in shower with a wide metal plate covering the drain under the shower head.
Uploaded
Another cat-inspired MIDI piece. RIP, sweet little Willow. :(
Uploaded
Dan wrote this one, Kevin exported it, changed the name, and added it to the album.
Uploaded
Kevin did this one. The "guitar" part was recorded on a keyboard at a Spice Rack Collective recording session, then Kevin added a bass part, used a drum plugin to generate the drum part, gave the thing a name, and added it to the album.
Uploaded
Kevin threw this one together while getting familiar with Dan's DAW software. (Could easily be called "Loops and Fades" on an album with a different theme...)
Uploaded
Kevin used a drum plugin and keyboard loops on this one.
Uploaded
Kevin repurposed the same MIDI track from "At Least We Still Have Power" to make this one - change instruments and tempo, and gentle chamber music becomes a tense nightmare.
Uploaded
Kevin recorded this one in two takes on his Cathead Lowebow #4, as featured on the larger group's RPM efforts a couple of years ago.
