Anything that has the title, "Desert Sunset", has me right away. I miss them deeply. The music delivers what the title suggests. I will be returning to listen, repeadtedly. On, the song you commented on "This Strange Parade", you were right, it was over 40mbs, perhaps that's why the music was cut off at the end, and the chorus just goes for a stroll naked, so to speak- it was just cut at 40mb's. Thanks for your knid comments by the way. Dan Gipson
So question for you.. how did you record the piano for this album?
And I realized later that you hadn't specifically asked what I was using on one of my piano songs.. so to answer your earlier question: It was Reason+Record for that song, with "built-in" sounds as well some refills (notably the Reason Pianos that I mentioned).
Lovely!
To answer your question... currently I'm using the Reason pianos refill. I've also used NI's Akoustik, Ableton Live Suite's grand piano, and an Alesis QS7 in reverse chronological order. :)

From the primitive days of using two cassette decks and a 4 pot mixer (no panning, RRLL). I found one of the original double tracking tapes - this sounds complete but is 1st generation unlike…
An older song that was originally inspired by Prefab Sprout's "Goodbye Lucille #1 (aka 'Johnny Johnny')" but has morphed into it's current state that's more influenced by Suicide and House of Love.
My opus. By far the longest song I've ever recorded. I tried to make it shorter, but it just didn't work. Sorry. :)
"The Water-Carver" uses a sample from Stereolab's "Changer." (Gane/Sadier)

very,, very,,,very,,,,,, nice,, must be fun to be able to play so well..... i think that if i played guitar this is how i would like to do it......this is a great listen!!!
I was working on one of my ethno 2 demos and needed a break so I made an improvisation on a series of major 7ths using only the Ethno 2 package.
All of the pitched instruments use the included Werckmeister temperament tuning.
Another fine ,,, piece,,, sections of this piece make me feel like i am in an impressionist painting,,, very nice
welcome and bout time you got here Peter!!!!
well well done,, smooth productions, with slight essences of beatles, beach boys, others,,, but all your own,, great musical sound --- wonderful vocals!!!
Many thanks to Kirk Lynch, a real gentleman and a pleasure to jam with.
His tracks are the heart of this tune.
Lyrics:
I have a a pain
deep in my Chest
I can’t Breathe
as I Light my cigarette
Oh my head, Woe is me
Oh my head, Woe is me
But…
DREAMS OF THE OCEAN
Your kids'll be waking up in the morning
Just a couple of hours after mine have gone to bed
I've got the coffee warming
While dreams of the ocean are in your daughters' heads
I taught them all 'bout it late last evening…
well done,,, this songs lyrics are very rich in the story telling, it takes a little more thought/ quietness to listen to,, It is well worth it, listen more than once and you will be rewarded in a quiet peacefulness... interesting, creative and very well played!!

well done,, i don't know the song,, so i don't know about the tempo issue,, but i enjoy this as is,, i do however like the hollowness/open airness of the piano and vocals,, i think they add,, though i do not know the coldplay version ,, once again well done!!!
I'm singing lead on this. It was recorded to 24 track, 2 inch tape, I'm thinking. I have those somewhere, but they've turned gooey. Sadly, it seems to go into the red during the chorus, but I can't fix that now. I have more stories about the…
very fine,, reminds me of when i used to sit out at the drive in watching the heat lightning eating, an ice creme cone with my wife in the humid Del Rio evening,, fine job all around

Dig this one! The polyrhythms (if that's the term) really give me the sense of rain falling, too.
