Finally, at last... I've got something finished...
Been working on this for a few weeks.
A bit of a rocker... (and an aging lecherous one at that)
I got it as close as I could and then mixed it loud... I've over-cooked it slightly - but…
I have been smiling for 4 minutes. My face hurts. This is such a rocker! I cant even pick my favorite line, but I think you said bag of trees and if so, that's it. Just great!

Jan 17 2015 - Remixed. I was always kinda disappointed with what the original mix sounded like. Listening to it the other day I realised what it is - I'd mixed the vocals too loud. This reduced the "stereo" and killed off a lot of the life…
I feel like I just got back from Narnia! Seriously though, the bass guitar is so cool and perfect in this song. I would want to turn this up loud on a wardrobe sized speaker!
A new one...
I wrote it on 5th February, and managed to record it in less than a month (a head-cold and lack of hearing in one ear slowed the last lap somewhat).
But seeing as the last one took over 8 months, I think I'm already ahead for…
Thanks for the encouraging comments and for letting me hear this song!! Wow! Such a great concept and hook. Imagery, vocals, production. Stuck in my head for the foreseeable future although, many of your other songs await!
So I was locked in the broom-cupboard, checking out some old songs that need recording.
I'd just picked one and then suddenly this thing came out of nowehere. It started with one of those guitarist doodles that other musicians love so much…

This is really good stuff. Songwriting firmly placed in late 70's art rock/pop, which is a very good place to be, if you ask me. Contemporary, skilled production makes for a tasty sound palette and a very enjoyable listening experience. Bravo!
This song has been sat on the marvellous mechanical mouse organ in the broom-cupboard for well over a year.
A few weeks ago I got a bit of a scare - the mouse organ nearly broke down (in the middle of sorting out Delta Dawn). While I was fixing…

I dig the classic flavor of this one. Some choice bass runs. Groovy lyrics. Great vocal delivery. Superb mix-down skills. Thanks for checking out "niaR" on my Gene Eric Mann profile. Hear it as "Rain" on my Nightmoth profile. Rock on!
I used to listen to the original version of this tune from Crash Bandicoot while driving to and from a job that I hated. It reminded me of working retail and how every customer is heartless and nothing is fair. After my success with making Fight…
This is the song that nearly killed my desire to have anything to do with music or recording ever again. Sure, let’s pretend that one cello is a whole symphony orchestra. Yes, that’ll be easy.
I learned a lot from this piece about trying to…
Take a look around...
Tell me what you see...
Anger in her face...
Cried with stolen tears...
Careful of her words.
They're not what they seem...
First to cast a stone.
Never without sin.

i always wanted to do a version of i am the walrus.
i did not include the radio part in the middle, nor all the
king lear quotes uttered. but i did use most of the strings
they used for effect. this is a kind of prog - psyche - hard rock…

I like the soul in the vocals here; nice bluesy crooning.
Nice imagery / Story telling.
Brilliant love it mate

With Colleen on this, good stuff.

very nice
About time too! Wonderful, as always :) *Kicks own ass into gear*
Good un' :)
*When she leaves to get undressed We’ll just imagine where she’s gone* Just brilliant.
Really like this mate. Great lyrics
Reminds me a bit of classic rock Bowie. Really cool!

This one grabs me a lot.
Nice one. Good to hear new stuff from you.
"Perhaps I should have done it before Masterclass 1 and 2" Classic.
Shaping up nicely :)
Yep, he showed 'em... Nice one.
I think you got away with it though. Doesn't quite breath like some of yours usually do, but it's still a gorgeous listen.
Gorgeous sounds.
Oh my goodness! I love the sounds you are making.
And here am I trying to figure out how to get a convincing "cello" impersonation out of the various instruments I can actually play!
Oh wow! That sounds fabulous. Gorgeous cello sound.
That's a tough song to listen to. Powerful stuff.
Ah, a fine chord. One of my favourites.
I'm ashamed to say I don't actually know any Mahavishnu Orchestra... but this sounds like you had a lot of fun. Nice one.
Like it.
Oh yeah... :)
Cool grooves. Loving the sounds.
You're a crazy man!! :)
That's really rather effective. Not easy-listening, but moving.
Nice one. like it. I have to admit, I was expecting "that riff" when I pressed play, though lol
Back for another listen to this - very tasty indeed.
