New stuff has been slow in coming for me lately, but I found this lurking on my hard drive from a while back. Frankly don't remember how I did it except that it was all live to 2 tracks and at one point one of my synth patches glitched out on…
the first multi track piece that I actually finished "in the box" in Cubase. An ambient kinda thing that grew out of playing around with the Line 6 DL4. Not sure I like the bow parts, but I may re do it later
I'm a complete idiot when it comes to all things midi related. Recently got myself a midi keyboard though and came up with this short piece just messing with sounds in Proteus. Really looking forward to the possibilities of combining this sort…
Rough sketch of a proposed dreamy 12 string piece that I couldn't pull off on the 12 string so did this quick electric version with vocal pads. Not sure of the recording quality- sounds OK in my cans and kinda crappy on my monitors. Recorded march…
Solo acoustic guitar recorded January 2nd 2009. Hope to do a longer more developed version at some point ,but for now just a short version to learn more about using new DAW software.

Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode

Had these backing tracks laying around on my drive for a while and didn't know what to do with them, so grabbed my Ebow and a fretless electric that I built for myself a couple years ago and had a go. My fretless playing is really in its infancy…
Something completely different- Uilleann pipes(Irish bagpipes) and synth. I wrote this tune over 20 years ago in the style of traditional Irish slow airs. It was recorded way back in 1991 for an album that's been out of print for over 15 years…
This is probably the last of this stuff from the archives that I'll upload. Rescued from a cassette tape of a live performance with former band mates in Scartaglen. These tunes are popular down in the Southwest of Ireland. Michael(Fiddle) and…

Thanks Kirk. I was really experimenting with different guitar sounds. For the acoustic I was trying to use a closet door as a way to reduce some of the noise I was having issues with.
I actually turned the bass and acoustic into samples and looped them so I could play around wwith some lead guitar. It's pretty cool beacuse I'm learning new techniques from Norm, and you idea on the acoustic is helping me find a cleaner way to record acoustic. Thanks again!

Solo acoustic finger picking thing I've been working on for a while. Sometime around 1968 I started studying with Mr. George Bennett who taught me the rudiments of finger picking. Later when we played some gigs together he also taught me the rudiments…
Archival stuff from my distant past with former bandmates in Scartaglen. A set of traditional Irish tunes. Rescued from a cassette tape done at a concert back in the early 90's. Myself on Uilleann pipes and whistle. Mike dugger on guitar and fiddle…

Wonderful! I do an Irish duet with a fiddle player every St. Patty's day, and I know how exacting this kind of music can be. When it's this good, it's a pure delight to listen to.

This track evolved over a couple of weeks. playing with sounds that I recorded and layering synths.
I have tried to give it different textures as it progresses. hope you like it and would love your feedback
This is a real old tune. I remember about 81 or so. My brother Asa wrote it.
I felt like recording something, so this is it.
A rude kinda fun song with that cowboy stylin' :)

My first composition that uses an odd time signature for a few measures. My drum fills are also more elaborate. It's just a little tune to bob your head to, tap your toe, you know, the good stuff!
Uploaded once and deleted.
This is a second take on guitar and vocals.
The first in a new process of mixing down.
It's about a soldier. The first person that came to my mind
when I thought, who would be singing a "Silent Love Song…
Guitar loop from 2008. First loop where I bounced between different tracks instead of building part upon part. Flawed, but for better or worse, I rarely record something twice (why I left in the pop in the initial bed loop, I have no idea - well…
Simple theme from the audio sketch book. I used to try and write a melody or two a day, most of the time I just put them on paper...this one I happened to record.
This was written and recorded on 19th September 05
aka International Talk Like A Pirate Day 2005 ( a wet afternoon as I recall) and is posted here so you start to get the hint.
Sorry- can't agree with SS about you sounding sexy- you ain't my type!, but this a very cool track. I was wondering the date of international talk like a pirate day!
From 2006 or 2007. One of the first (and one of just a few) pieces I wrote using Reason. I was definitely listening to Patrick O'Hearne at the time...might have to buy some real piano samples.
Written and recorded in 2006 (I think). Another I hesitated to upload since it's so sloppy, but I am filing it under For the Sake of Posterity...Don't remember much, but I think I was using an Ibanez Artist semi-hollow body guitar, PodXT, '70s…
it is a little bang. a star explodes. matter becomes energy, light, and patterns. chaotic beauty. it is a cloud of color. it is a nebula.

this music is an attempt…
they're down there and they're making a tunnel under my bedroom floor... all night i hear the scrape of tiny picks and shovels and i cant take much more. i don't who they are but i know what they want, and i aint nobody's fool... i got some gas…

Wow!
From a minimalistic beginning this grows into well orchestrated piece. I like it.
Calm japanese feeling. Rsesembles a bit of Sakamoto's work
I like those arpeggios. Reminds me of Robert Fripp
beautiful and relaxing like this very much
An excellent compilation of tunes Kirk, and not only enjoyed by me, but my son also enjoyed your music too. :)
phrygian? dorian? Then a beautiful major chord...perfect way to end off my evening. Thanks!
Whatever am I about, while doing up my list again, I forgot this earth shattering piece!
Thanks much, man!
Sweet as it gets! Cheers d.
Well played! Full of changes like from majeur to mineur and back, good one!

I just love the atmosphere these tracks have, such good fun. What a fantastic night out!
Thanks for your recent comments mate.
Very good! Reminds me of my time in Limerick, Ireland. I was there studying last spring =).
Very moving

Lovely stuff man- never heard this one before
That's really fun. I'm thinking you listened to the sensational Alex Harvey band sometime!
I'd say you succeeded in your attempt. Lovely- relaxing journey!
