Sounds awesome! Clean, forward, and intimate. Love the acoustic arrangement and all the little touches (tambourine, shaker, fingersnaps). Love the layered vocals too from the three singers.
I decided to cover one of Jarrett's songs. Word to the wise - it's harder than you think. Dude uses a lot of inversions and weird chords. So, being me, I kinda-sorta figured out the chords, but not quite, then took to creating my own song that…
This... sounds... awesome! It's like modern retro. The synths, the thin sounding guitars, the dry snare, the flanging, it all sounds great. Fab vocals too.
Yacht rock.
Every time I see your smile
I feel like I’ve come home
And every time you stay a while
Is the best day that I’ve known
You’re the one that lights my way
Brings brightness to my day
And I just have to say
Don’t want it…
Everyone loves a tribute to The Cure
I’m sitting here in the dark , Thinking how we fell apart
I can’t shake the feeling of your touch
Remembering the way you smiled, And how you said you’d stay a while
But now you’re gone and I’m here all…
Your backing vocals on this album remind me of something that I cannot quite put my finger on. I like them a lot. I think you have actually done more with less this year in the BGV department. That solo was borderline Just like Heaven... but then again, you said you were doing the Cure and the Cure you did.
I don't even know you anymore.
You open your mouth, the words slip out
I’m shocked by what I hear
The differences couldn’t be more clear
Same scene, different views
With our eyes and on the news
And I’m not sure what to do
I don’t…
Over the course of the album, you seem to have some pent up aggression toward some one... Ooh chimes! sorry ADD... The addition of the left guitar in the second chorus is killer! All of the layers in the end are wonderful!
Sometimes you listen to a Peter Murphy song and then ask ChatGPT to help you write a song. Sometimes you end up with this. You wouldn't believe the lyrics I left out.
Goths on the beach, all dressed in black,
Heading for the waves, and…
Super interesting concept going into this one. I basically have no other words.
Its good? Its weird? Its perfectly constructed?
I think the only thing it is missing is a 12 string and maybe it is already on in there...You really let loose in those last choruses and it is awesome... more of that please.
I asked to robots to help me write a song in the style of Tom Waits.
Riding on a train to the edge of town
Where the night has just begun
People on the street with nowhere to go
Living hard and having fun
Everywhere I go there’s a song…
Love the electric piano you got going on. One of my favourite tones is a Mark IV through a fender amp with a bit of grit mixed with an organ. Those lead guitar tones are perfect for this feel. Very laid back. If anything on the second solo there are a bit too many notes. Just take some out and it will be perfect... just none of the ones after 2:57; those ones are spot the F* on.
I tried to write a song that sounded sort of like Peter Gabriel. I'm not sure how close I got, but Megan and Jarrett absolutely killed it on this tune.
I can see you in my mind
Like a dream I can’t forget
I’m reaching out to touch you
But…
There is a stringedesqued instrument doing a boldly subtle bit that sounds like a departure from L17 that I like.
Background layered vocal on that third chorus with horns was a nice touch for an outro!
Were you guys aware that I'm a Beatles fan? Because, well.... I am.
I don't want you to come too close
I don’t need you to break the rules
Don't try to play my game
It’s not what you should do
I don’t think we can be friends
I don…
What ever you did with those back ground vocals are simply fantastic! I love the way the line "You won’t find a way back to my heart, I know it’s hard to see" flows, that was easily my favourite part!
Don't let it be said that I've forgotten my love of R.E.M.
Dream of a life that’s never been seen
A world of possibilities, a place in between
A place of shadows, a place of light
A place of secrets, hiding in the night
Oblique, oblique…
Toe tapping catchiness, classic REM sound. I love the repeated guitar riffing throughout the song, and you kept that little pause at 3:24! I think it add a little bit of dynamic and tension at the end of the song.

This one also has a lilting, melancholy feel to it. Groovy bass! Awesome outro; I love how all the instruments fade out except the cello and flute sounds.

Just another cover of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite musicians. Yes, the entire song is written in haiku. I'm not really sure how she does it, but Sam can make words dance.
Just a basic dance track because its just fun to bounce around sometimes. Also another excuse to use a growly bass sound... a "60 Hz Hum Bass" soundfont I had clearly neglected for too long.
Ever since i heard Cave Street's Creator Protector Destroyer (from their 2010 RPM album) run from that song back into the opening didj of Onion Bell (the first track) i wanted to put the lyrics to that pulsing energy, and today i had time to give…

Wow! This is brilliant! ….and hey! Long time …
This sounds absolutely phenomenal!
Like "Hey Julie," sounds great with the straightforward, laid back, acoustic arrangements.
Sounds awesome! Clean, forward, and intimate. Love the acoustic arrangement and all the little touches (tambourine, shaker, fingersnaps). Love the layered vocals too from the three singers.

Nice and gentle way to end the album. Well done as usually good sir.

So melancholy! I love that repeating high guitar(?) motif throughout the song. Such a great outro!
another awesome track... It's time for some good dancing to your tunes
Love this!!! Going to be my ear worm for today I'm sure.
Another amazing track… this is my favorite so far…
This is amazing…
Dude, OUTSTANDING production. This might be my favorite track of the album.

A rockin' shuffle with that awesome harmonica. Oh yeah!
Nicely done. The extra instruments and voices really bring a lot to the track.
Beautiful, understated guitar work. This is a really lovely song. You've achieved what I keep trying to do, and you've done very well with it.
This reminds me of the Slowvol record from last year. Great stuff.
I really like the guitar work here, particularly as you come out of the chorus.
This is why we love Stu. Great work all around.
Just freaking brilliant.
Another brilliant job. Nice work, Stu.
This is seriously messed up, and I mean that in the best possible way.
Two of my favorite artists in one song! Great job, Keith!
Oh yeah! I'm all over this one. Nice work. Now I just have to figure out how to cover it to fit in my "party" theme of late. = )
Very very cool.
My favorite line: "And the river's a safer bet, because the sharks are smaller." I love that.
Wow. You did a much better job with her songs than I did. Nice work. I really like the transition into Rest.
Another fine job, Mr. Landry.
Another brilliant track. Just amazing. Excellent musicianship and a stellar vocal performance.
Hah! This is great! I'll have to say, this is not a song I figured anyone would ever cover. = ) Nice work.
HAND CLAPS!!!!! Most excellent!!!
Sweet harmonies. Lovely.
I love the toy piano!
