from the album ‘ZERO’
featuring Tess Savigear on vocals

as you wish said the boy
to the girl with the sparkling eyes
so it goes, so they say
he was taken from her that day
and her deep blue eyes went silent
just another sad tale, so sorry

so her heart grew cold
as the time passed by
but she still held a spark
for the boy inside
who was sailing away
on the ocean blue
but she never knew

as you wish said the man
who went tumbling down the hill
so it goes, so they say
the man was the boy she loved
and he bested a giant to save her
inconceivable, so sorry

at the end of the tale
you’ll wiping your eyes
all the good people lived
all the bad peopled died
and true love waits
at the end of the page
so they say

but the saddest part
as they rode off into the sunset
is that everyone
won’t be smiling tomorrow
it’s a lie you’ve been deceived
there’s no such thing as happy endings
so sorry

Really all comes together here. Better of a song, awe inspiring vocal delivery, perfectly measured production. The outcome is incredibly moving. As much as I adore eternity (and I do) I think this just pips it for me as my favourite Tess flavoured one. Esp. The emotional ending. Contender for fav Angie fights crime song ever

Fantastic songwriting, Brent... Music and production all solid. I feel like you should get some kind of award.

Tess's voice really rocks with these sounds -- gorgeous. You're really good at how you blend and pan and volume the various tracks into the final mix down, which is a science and an art. You've got a groovy feel for composing, for mixing, and for finding the right vocalists.

I adore the part where Tess's voice breaks up oh-so slightly at about 3:40. Awesome.
