This song is about George Washington, and how politicians in the *cough* future world this album inhabits *cough* could perhaps use a bit of his character.

This is a cover of a song by Sister Savage, from her kickin' 2010 RPM Challenge album, Juped 2k10. It also introduces the genre of acoustic crossdressed spacecheese (these damn kids today with their flying cars and their hyperspecialized genres…
New version of my cover of A Beautiful Scene's You're So Comfortable and I'm Not. Now with lots more instruments. Some parts are still kinda rough but I think I'm done with it.

Lyrics:
I don’t know whatever your mama told you
But, baby, listen to me.
Well she may think that I’m a snake in the clover.
I tend to disagree.
But I don’t want to take a lover if I can do what I please.
It’s just a memory of what you…
Ring of Fire - lyrics by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash -1963. Slightly modified.
This wasn't meant to be Ring of Fire but that's how it wound up.
I have been wanting to trash Ring of Fire and the words just seem to fit this simple 1-4-5…
The verses work absolutely perfectly... it sounds like it was a little harder to make the refrain fit... but as this wasn't really supposed to be Ring of Fire in the first place that's OK. I can imagine this getting even more over-the-top... when Jess gets out to Seattle one of us will have to learn metal-style guitar...
It seems a lot of you record with open mics and can relate. I record 1 track at a time with usually 4 or 5 tracks. So, Im only asking for about 15 minutes of Silence...IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK??? Anyway, my house is so loud, I get a lot of bloopers…
LOL. I can relate. Since I can't actually play any of the instruments I use in my songs, sometimes I'm best off using a take with some horns or meows or jingling in the background. I often unplug my phone... and then forget to plug it back in when I'm done.
I cant seem to play this unless I do it live....
That is something new to me...
Used to be the other way around....
This is called "Do or die"...
Do or Die
(words and music by Tharek Mokbul)
Do or die, that’s what Everyone here is…
f the gd established system, banker [we're just going to replace this statement made thoughtlessly in 2010 with a "this page left intentionally blank" notice]
This song makes me smell belches and dog drool (dog belches?)
I hope that makes everyone FAV this until it hits the top of the "kicking ass" list. Because who doesn't love dog belches?
a collaboration of Alister Flint - Carlo Serafini - Chris Vaisvil
so, Chris did this. Carlo did that. and i added some. for the technical stuff, see below. :)
This piece uses multiple tunings simultaneously and is the inaugural…
When love is no longer enough....
Stay Awake
I hear every little sound,
Every breath, hearts beating,
They're breathing....
See the passion in her heart,
A witness of her fire,
Desire....
I feel myself drifting off,
The pillow…
I enjoyed this little record. Nice tunes and solid vocals. The brass patches in this song are very non-idiomatic... as if that was the point. If so, I agree with the sentiment.
this is about the time i hung out with my friend in the library. we sat on the floor underneath the towering shelves of the dusty poetry section. we're only humans, just two of them. i turned up the reverb. and double tracked one high and one…
Again i'd love some feedback
I like the feel and the mix
do the lyrics work?
recorded t'night in an hour after trying all day to get the verse lyrics rammed into another tune
I took you seriously
I took it carefully
I didn't want to breathe too loudly
I walked around silently
I didn't say a word
Fear was there beside me
I know it sounds absurd
But so what?
So what.
I lived without money
I've lived without…
The most challenging track to record during the RPM Challenge this year. I like how a lot of it turned out, but there were so many clashing pieces, that I was pulling my hair out trying to assemble it.
We move miles away from Bristol trip-hop and take a trip to Paris. This Daft Punk-inspire piece really allowed me to lighten up a bit during the lonely production stages.
Whoa. What an awesome sound. The singing evokes a folk or maybe even country song, and then the organ drones and syncopated percussion refer to hip-hop.
one of those 'it was written even before i started' songs that just rolls out like magic
i tried to keep it simple so as not to destroy the vibe
first finished (if unmixed) track for RPM 2010
Once of City Steve and the Neon Lights. this was my first cover.
This song is done in the style of "the rake Song" by the decemberist. yeah. that just happened.
I really like the style of this album, the sounds and beats are pretty cool, has some catchy tunes. It's a fun listen, for sure. I think if it's a "rock opera", though, the lyrics should be more intelligible. That label implies an emphasis on story and themes, which usually requires lyrics to be up-front (your arrangements and sonic style allude to the space theme, but in a more general way).
Comments on Al's left hand's stuff
seriously one of my favorite songs of all time in any genre, any level of production. This song(and most of the others on the album) RADIATES.
GW was an amazing man....those days are long long gone......
still great
some people are just so hard to reach
i think i'm hooked on your sound. . ! I'll be back for repeated visits!
this song is so incredibly funny. in a manic tone, juuust keeping his cool.
yyour work is especially meaningful
holy chute steve this is sage, bard, railroad car, tis incredible actually.
This tune is gorgeous. The guitar is proud and strong. I love when the rythym guitar is so good that you don't notice there are no drums.
sweet!
I really like your songs city + lights .
Epic. Seems a bit VU as well.
Very nice Neil Young-style tune.
nice tune
Here come those Crazy Horses!
Wow-acoustic crossdressed spacecheese! Talk about having your own niche market!
OH MY! This is SO MUCH FUN! You took a great song and put a tremendous spin on it. Well done!
Completely uplifting album (despite the often dark lyrics) - enjoyed!
Wonderful vocals! The spoken word stuff sounds great and the chorus layers are fab! (Love that laugh around 21 seconds, haha!)
Very cool! Love how you're mixing it up on this album!

(If this album continues to be this good I'm going to run out of favs and have to restart my computer, because that's how it works, you know,)

I have a few songs like that, where I just can't play the parts well separately. This set of live/acoustic songs is really nice!

Great idea, great execution! I'll definitely be looking out for more of this.
Neat tune, I really like your vocals on just about everything.
This makes me think Hüsker Dü. Cool sounds. Love the drum part.

Cool stuff!
Every time I get lost while out running this song plays in my head.
I'm not sure how I went so long on alonetone without listening to your stuff. I think I'ma listen to the rest of it! Really cool sound!
WOOOOOO!
Great set of offbeat sounds on this track.
This track has me dancing in my chair. Nicely done!
Whoa. What an awesome sound. The singing evokes a folk or maybe even country song, and then the organ drones and syncopated percussion refer to hip-hop.
This track reminds me of the New Pornographers more than anything. More cool sounds from one of the coolest sounding bands doing RPM.
I really love the pace and feel of this. Beautiful song!
Nice bass, cool arrangement!
