i totally appreciate the criticism, and in a way i totally agree with you. as i stated this is an older track, not to mention i lost my hard-drive with the raw recordings :( but, if i had the choice to change things, that would probably be one of the first things i would do.

Love the sound efx in the intro. Mixes like this always conjure images..AWESOME how you bring the drums in at 1:51 or so. I for one am glad you decided to share this. Don't change the begginning at all..in my humble opinion anyway. :)

this sounds pretty epic bro. Sounds like a real Akira Yamaoka soundtrack. If I were listening to this and not knowing from who I'd have thought Akira was up to making his own stuff. anyways dunno if that's your intent, but keep up the great work. =D

i really like this sound, great use of eq'ing, sub bass, heavy compression, distortion. for this finely crafted 4 dimensional painting. what do you use to record/edit/mix?

did you set it up so that when you reach a certain input volume with the guitar a gate is triggered that initializes the drum machine to hit?

what did you use to get these sounds, are these all analogue? i am particularly interested in the sound that comes in around 1:10, it is high end, sounds like string being plucked and recorded through a narrow tube. what is that, the phase on it is really interesting.

in regards to your reduced volume issue, it is most likely because the recording at some point in the signal process was distorted, so when you mixed it down in garage band it 'auto-normalized' it, meaning it reduced the volume to a point at which the signal on the main out in garageband was not distorting (red lining/going past 0 db). i would look to make sure that none of your inputs are red lining or that the mix on the main out is not red lining, then when you mix down in garageband and send to itunes the volume will most likely not be reduced. now as far as the song, i look forward to when you eq it and such, it has this kind of lounge demented sound to it. i imagine myself in a gritty scene potentially on an old nearly broken elevator.

i like this, the breaks between lyric and instrumental and the progression with the drums. how did you record this? did you use one mic for the drums? if so you have made good use of it. i hear remnants of the unicorns, 764 hero and a few others in your songs, i look forward to hearing more.
