Okay Andrew R. , this ones for you bud. Had a little fun with it in the intro. That was the surprise.
I put the bass line down and arranged the drums Saturday morning and returned later that night about 10:00 pm . I worked until 2 am and laid…
I was finally able to finish this one up over this past week. Like always I am never satisfied but I have come to a point where I just tell myself enuff is enuff and move on to the next song...pheww! Hopefully it sounds good on everyone elses…
Awesome song. I like this version, loving the wah guitar in the left channel. You got good taste in music! I love the cover of this by the band Rare Earth. Good cover!
Having more fun with Hendrix. I tried to stay true to the original as far as using no overdubs. Just one guitar, bass, drum and vocal track. Kind of used a mix approach and used a bit from the record and a bit from his live performance in Winterland…
Yes. Captain Beyond was remnants of Iron Butterfly, Rod Evans original vocalist for Deep Purple(One of my favorite vocalists ever), and johnny Winter. You nailed it. Psychedelic Jazz Rock mostly. They're one of my all time faves. Check out live at montreaux on youtube with Captain Beyond.
Thanks for stopping by
Peace

Well done. Curious how royalties work when covering music for free? Do you have to pay anyone anything? Hendrix is awesome.
Good cover. Out of Hendrix I have I don't know this song. The riffs remind me of Dancing madly Backwards by Captain beyond. Though almost without a doubt Hendrix did it first. Captain beyond was 1971 I think.

YESSIRREEE!
This is the bizness. I knew you could pull it off :)
Particularly love the bridges ("That's why") and how they slam into the chorus. Always loved those bits...
And the solo, and the guitar on the last chorus/out - sounds like you've got walls of plexis rattling the control room windows.
... and lol at sticking EXP on the front of it.
This one needs a FAVE of the FAVES button.

I threw this one together tonite/early am...yawnnnnn. Not an exact replica but always a tribute to Jimi's music. I was originally turned on to do this by some new free vst effects I found on the net. A cool fuzz face vst that is very realistic…

I came back for a 2nd listen ... I think you're a good player. Not really into covers unless they are redone and reshaped into something original. I like your voice and pretty good production quality. I think you could have stepped the lead up a bit ... let it rip at the end ... maybe a bit more volume and drive. Really good though

This song was recorded our first session of the month. We were playing as a five piece and i really love the sound. This is one of KGs best song to date.

Wicked Savior
-
Your halo's bent yeah
your wings are broken
We shoot for the moon
gonna leave here smokin'
Your tarnished reputation
don't mean nothin to me
A rumor's just that
for myself I'll see
Be my wicked savior
my wicked savior

Break my stride break my stride

Another fine song....very clean and clear performance. Love the lyrics....especially the eagle reference. Many years ago ai had a once in a lifetime encounter with g an eagle while fishing the Chippewa Flowage in WI.
the last third. Along with inter dimensional warfare, tells a complete story. Suddenly feeling like everything I've done this month is crap. Everything except toilet shrimp. I love that song.

I’m a lucky boy
I’m filled with joy
I got angels guiding me

I don’t walk that line
Seems to work out splendidly
Stop and look around
I’m the luckiest boy in town
Ain’t no better can be found…
I told myself that the 2013 RPM album was going to be guitar/bass/drums/vocals. Maybe an occasional keyboard thrown in as a gimmick. Yeah, this song is based around an electric piano and has a sax solo. So much for convictions.

Sorry I think its actually the song Raging River of fear by Captain Beyond these riffs remind me of.

Ooooh!, Yeah!!
I think Jimi would be pleased
Rocks , well done.
Ooh that took me back, the days of great B sides on records. Rock on Jimi !!!!

..particularly like your vocal on this one - another rockin' Hendrix classic to add to my favourites list. Well done, James..
Still loving this one.
Great job....just love the guitar work, and your voice....smokiiiin.....
Still remember hearing that LP in '67, blew my socks off & it still plays .........Good job
Very nice!

A whole box of awesomeness.

Nice collab...has a cool retro feel.
Thats some wild slide playing. The turnaround sounds like it may shift off path but falls right back in place.
Nice collection of tunes here. Hell of a good collab.
Impressive. Has a Thin Lizzy vibe.
Nice collab here.....real good playin, love the guitar tone.
Love the atmosphere created here.
You guys have a sound similar to the band Love w/ Arthur Lee. Very 60's LA Sound. Very cool.
Hell yeah! Thats some pickin and grinnin boy howdy! Great production! Top notch track!
That fuzzy guitar drives the song well. Catchy tune.
Very cool way to revive some of that folk history.
Solid C_&W song.....enjoying very much.
Another fine song....very clean and clear performance. Love the lyrics....especially the eagle reference. Many years ago ai had a once in a lifetime encounter with g an eagle while fishing the Chippewa Flowage in WI.
Nice playing. At first it was reminiscent of Spanish Caravan.
Mysterious and spacey.
That slide guitar comes outta nowhere and fits right in. Definitely the feeling of floating thru space..
This is an incredible listen...cannot describe it. Coming from all directions. How you made all the instruments work together is beyond me.
That is incredible..I am imagining a scene showing a battle field and the aftermath of war...something along those lines.
This is tops for me. Simple , even and sincere. Excellent.
Really a cool Floyd feel...diggin it. Your playin is similar to Santana...love this sax.
So that is writing technique, very similar to Paul Simo's technique. Like all these acoustic tunes lately.
