This was the first in this set of 3 songs I am posting. I was gaining alot of inspiration from the likes, of Justin Currie and Jackson Browne at the time.
Recorded using Reaper DAW & Jamstix virtual drummer software.
In my late teens I was in a hard rock band and this was one of our songs. This recording is not the band but myself doing all the instruments and vocals. Our singer Kevin wrote the lyrics but I forgot some of the lines and adlibbed a bit of it…
This is a lil tune I had written over fifteen years ago. It is one of my favorite progressions and I figure in the near future to record a full band arrangement with vocals. This is just a ruff take working out a melody over the changes.
Oh yet another nostalgic blast from the past. I found this unbelievable backing track surfing the web some years ago. I usually never use backing tracks because they usually suck bad . But this one is like having mitch and noel at your side. I…

Aww... how does you make your strat sound like that? lol
Mine used to sound like that but I seem to have mellowed. I'm going to have to refind this vibe.
Now, do you have version of Stone Free hiding in the vaults? If so, I want to hear it.

I agree with Bee. This pulled me back to the time when I had hair that went all the way across the top.
I think I'm going to have to pour myself a bowl of Wheaties (Breakfast of Champions) before I listen again. I need energy to keep up with all those licks.

I took an old track that was a cover of Hear my train and dropped the vocals and added some new electric guitar tracks. I had just upgraded my recording setup and was testing some hardware and software when I did this. It has a punchy lil guitar…

Now that my album Texas Tonefreak is almost "out of print", I'll be posting the tracks up here.
Kip Siewert on harmonica
Philip Waite on drums
me on everything else

Finally, at last... I've got something finished...
Been working on this for a few weeks.
A bit of a rocker... (and an aging lecherous one at that)
I got it as close as I could and then mixed it loud... I've over-cooked it slightly - but…
Originally by Freddie King, I did the John Mayall (Eric Clapton) version since the March 2014 issue of Guitar World mag has a good transcription of it. Looking back now I wish my lead tone wouldn't have been quite so harsh in places.
Just an instrumental I came up with on the 7-string. Wanted to try a few harmonized licks. Guitars and bass are me but the drums aren't (as with all my stuff).
I did this as a way to practice singing....why I am trying to learn to sing at 64 is a little strange.... I wish I had leaned to sing when I was starting out..but I always played in band with lots of singers and never had to sing much…
Some time ago whilst YouTubing, I stumbled across several videos of old seafaring songs or sea "shanties". Unbelievably, that triggered some very ancient RAM of elementary school music classes wherein we were taught several of these songs. And…

She'd wrecked her car and couldn't get to work
I watched to see if any of her friends would volunteer
They just wished her well
There'd been a storm.

I'm doing just Fine with Buck Erpestad. Check out Bucks music here:

Here is what Buck said he added:
"So I used the tremolophone (vibes) and tuba sounds in Garageband and played them on the keyboard."
Comments on JR James's stuff
Love the intro... and... oh yeah (faved)... Aww... this too good, go back to the Hendrix stuff lol
Stadium rock!!! Yeah!
Reminds me of The Fleetwoods. (Not Fleetw3ood Mac) A very specific time and place.
Rippin'
So Cream/Hendrix. Jack Bruce. Love the unrelenting drive. Stevie Ray too. (Thank you for your comment.
Deep dark...surf? Wowza!
Yeahhhh! This used to be my opening number when I was gigging years ago. Perfect for over the top lead guitar lunacy :)
Definitely should go all out with this one...
Yep, can't fave it twice sadly lol This is the one ringing in my ears as I stagger off to the broom-cupboard and switch on a few guitars and stuff...
GOOSEBUMPS!!! ..think I've busted the favourite button...!
Good one , rocks.
I think your vocal is great too. It's ideal for the track. Excellent stuff! Bethan
Wayhay! This takes me back to my beat group days. Saturday nights, Blue Lagoon in Newquay! Well played!!!
Zeperliscious...................

Yay, takes me back to the town hall 40 years! No, that's good!!! Rocking great! Yes, ok, the guitar playing is improved since then!!!

Gilmour-esque.....sweet.
thats beautiful...wow
love the free form feel.
Solid Blues Track...always love the harp in there.
Slaying it!
hauntingly incredible.
cool version....:)
ack with a vengance! Has the AC/DC vibe and a bit of the Bon Scott in the vox. Nice gritty guitar riff and solo. Bad Ass tune.
Wonderful....?
Another fine one GC. A nice tune to warm things up around your neck of the woods.
Dig it....I spent many hours copping licks off that bluesbreakers album...nice choice played with your touch. Did not sound harsh at all.
You a monster shredder.....this has Shrapnel stank all over it!
Kooh....this is sweet..nice textures over that riff...nice modal soloing.
That's was perfect....love the vintage vocal effect....guitars primo across the board.
Man....just love the combo of banjo and acoustic....perfect marriage...great vocals and love the story. Pro stuff RP.
Always like the way you approach your vocals.....this has the British blues all over it.
Cool lil quirky track but sentimental at the same time..
Always uplifting to listen to your music.
Nice...like how your vocal sits right in there.
Smashing..dig that aggressive tone of the guitar and bass together..
