rpm #7,, i think this will be the overture, to a small midi orchestral suite, which i hope will finish up as my remaining 3 pieces for this years rpm, but well see how that goes,, thanks for all the helpful comments i have received on this project…

at the end of an evening, after the house lights have gone down, in the quietness of the hall,, two cellos, share a quiet moment.. dedicated to the old couple who have lived so long together, to parent who watches as their child sleeps, to the…
Yes, I like less reverb, but who am I to know. I thought you got a more natural sound on the other setting.
They're both good, and if there wasn't the request for comparison, the differences would have gone unnoticed.
well this is a bit awkward, but i have been chatting with Nosda Cariad about the various plus and minus of sound settings ie reverb,,, sometimes i feel like i have used too much, as sort of a crutch. in this version the reverb has been toned down…

This starts at essentially the same improvisation pattern and then travels elsewhere - I think I like the Martin version better myself. This one is in stereo.
ok this one playes for me,,,haven't heard the martin one yet,, but this is very nice,,, i know how multi talented you are,, but there's just something about hearing you playing on a solo guitar,, that just stands out so profoundly... this is great,,,,well well played
Just an improvisation for ImprovFriday - recorded on my Zoom H2 in the expensive acoustic guitar room at my local guitar center.
I had to switch to mono because I had the zoom too sensitive and created a series of pops on one channel. This…
One more to go and I'm slapping them together.
This is 3 layered drum loops. Some dupes and some play along.
I've managed to grow a huge beard this RPM.
I think I'm starting to look like Gandolf. :)
well hey there Gandolf's not a bad person to look like, at least as far as im concerned,,, this is very nice,,,, is that a mandolin or slide playing the lead? fine playing
Mellow morning mist fall
Melting into day
This summer said son, you are lazy
Don’t follow any example, break every rule
After awhile you’ll find it’s so easy to do
Just stay within the limits of your love
Soon the air will turn colder…
This song was born on the 18th of Feb. 2011. It was the last piece I wrote/recorded for the challenge. It was a very sad day for me, almost as if all my usual winter sadness was concentrated and crammed into one day. The process of writing and…
Final version
An unaccompanied song about bedtime. Not a lullaby though. Oh no!
What does anyone think of the 'cat's moustache' line - it seems like that's a make or break call right there and i like it when i read it but it's hard to sing without…
So I dropped the guitar into DADGAD tuning for the first time, threw a capo on the third fret, rifled off something nice, and sent it to Movement to Contact for his contribution, got it back, did some mixing...
Here is the result.
YOU NEED…
the music adds a dimension to the reading that is very powerful,,, it's neat the way they balance together so well, neither over powering or detracting from the other,, this is sort of like a collage of sound,, well done
So one too many coffee's and I have insomnia, I decided to mess about with my prototype sequencer Rytme and one of the Logic piano presets (Piano Motion).
I came up with this piece (in the key of A Major) which is rather repetitive (a quality…
very fine,,, i was going to make some comment about bit of a time warp,, but,,, forget that!! this is a really great sound in the here and now,, you have created a really cool ambience
A live studio take, made in San Francisco's "Different Fur Studio"deep in the heart of the "mission district"..a live audience made it a lot of fun!2010
You never would have caught me playing this genre a few years ago. WHat the hell happened ??
All the instruments were recorded with an open mic at my house. Which, as you know is always a chaotic place to record :) If you listen hard enough…
very nice,, the instruments all sound very fine,, the cello part is very soft, not really for me to say but perhaps the cello, which is a rich mellow deep string could be a tad louder,, it's rich low sound is a great compliment to the high twang of the banjo,,,however the song is wonderful as is,, take care r

You are really creating yourself an RPM Challenge masterpiece. It's another beautiful contribution.
I thought I heard a little Aaron Copland in there. It's beautiful

The reverb setting is a success to my ears. Nice Cello and overall piece.
Breathtaking Good tension and resolution with captivating arrangement. Nice one Richard.
If you do not do work for film....u should. Very nice piece here.
