hey bud, thanks for sharing yer stuff with the rest of us. Yer oldies are just as great as yer new stuff is. I wish there was a better format on AT so that the oldies don't get buried. A lot of us have some hidden treasures buried away.
A test run with my new Line 6 DL4 delay pedal. Recorded with a handheld mp3 recorder, hence the ambient room noise. The DL4 was fed into a BOSS loop pedal also. No overdubs, all on the fly.
for the 2009 RPM Challenge album "Sabbatical"
Standing at the edge of Canyon de Chelly in Arizona at sunrise last summer I had an out of body experience.
Just a rough version of a song I plan to record properly during this coming February's RPM Challenge.

Sometimes, as they say, Christmas do come early. I found Johnny Stone's "Christmas Rock In Oz" under the tree and couldn't wait until Yuletide to unwrap it. What a rockin' gift! I know a bit about…
An experiment I recorded yesterday with a rig I put together for more or less ambient sounds using two loopers and nearly every effects unit I own. I have no idea who Clark was but he owned the '58 Harmony Stratotone that I used on this cut. His…
My 5-year-old daughter has asked me to make music for her to have playing in her room as she falls asleep. So, I'm working on a new album of ambient and downtempo electronica called "Sleep." Here's a work-in-progress mix of the first track.
A drone + some angry drunken guitar playing.

An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track

A steel string guitar improvisation I did last night before bed called “A Nagging Thought“. The piece prominently features a V+ to i (augmented dominant to minor tonic) movement. I usually don’t care for the sound of an augmented tried but in…
Comments on kavin.'s stuff
Nice music for a rainy day....
Sounds like a musical rocking chair....or porch swing...has me swaying in my seat.
like your style man/your son eric as well... very inviting guitar spins....'Suspended sea' is still my favorite.
thanks. Son Eric on bass, friend Phil on Edrums. I just served as producer on this 'un.
raw drums n bass...and the bass line itself is pretty cool
Ha ha, wow!!
i think the drum work is really well done. making E drums sound improvised take some work.
when it comes to classes of musicians, rank you in the highest one.
nice layers!
oh slides!
meaty tones, embodiment.
There's some pretty mean playing there, boy!
Very cool kavin. Digging this one. If i only had your skills with the slide. ;)
Nice -- I've always loved this song in general, and you did a good job covering it.

DL Fo FoSho!
love it!
whoa, this is very believable Kav.
clever tapping.
beaut! like how it winds up and calms down over and again. despite being very complex, almost jazzy, it is a seamless set.

Right on! Well put.
Cool. Only 1 listen?
So what happened to Johnny? This is the only thing that remains. Did I miss something?
Another hit. These blow me away.
Aahh. Hints of Alison Krause. This top stuff yawl.
Love the acoustic interplay on this!
Dig the minimalism here!
Yeah Kirk, definitely check out DM. One of the best modern westerns I think, and I usually don't like westerns. NY's soundtrack is perfect for it too.
Lucky lucky. Great sweeping tone on this. Got a pick of the entire guitar?
Like the Hendrixian guitar that comes in at 4 min...is that Ken playing?
Woaw yeah, great low end! The ominous intro might induce nightmares tho..
Your mood really comes thru in the music. Hope it all works out.
Inventive and free. Is the cat like a tree falling in a forest?
The Dark Riders are near. Wish this were 10 times longer!
Simply lovely. Will have to search for more Scartaglen.
Great work yawl. Even rivals the great Vincent Price's recitation.
Ha!
I must echo everyone else. Beautiful songwriting.
Fantastic, inventive stuff.
This just seems to float in the air and tickle the ears. Nice epi.
