The flutey sounds are actually the sound of a damp sponge wiped up the neck of a guitar, sampled and played back on a keyboard.
Some real guitar appears towards the end of this piece.

We wrote it and recorded the basic bits in December, 2009, but I didn't add vocals for quite some time. It's a sketch of something that will end up on our second LP, whenever that comes into fruition.
For now, here it be.

Transient texture experiment; also reverb envelopes. RPM number 10.

Well, this is number 10, and with only 8 days left, I think we may be calling it on this one. There are alot of scraps left over, and even a few experiments left to showcase, including a three part duet! but alas, time is escaping into the void…

First track off my upcoming album Palettes To Burn, out March 5th! A remix of the song Ever Since ft. Michael Ackhurst.

Kind of a chillout, lullaby type tune.

Notes:
I think the shaker comes in too strong. I think the intro goes on for probably 1 or 2 more phrases than it should.

This is an "unplugged" version of a song that features a nylon stringed acoustic guitar. All instruments played by Barry Morgan and mixed and mastered in his home studio.

She sees the lights,
she sees the shadows and she knows

Nothing to do with Wiccans. I can't remember why I called it 'Pentangle' - probably the first word that entered my head when it came time to save. I like to go with whatever bubbles up from the subconscious.

The "chorus" riff started off with me trying to rip off "Shallow" by Porcupine Tree. Don't think I'm really in PT territory anymore though.

Notes:
Today I learned how to add an insert effect to the master channel. The song was way quiet so it got boosted via a limiter. Hurray.

“my jetpack” a floaty, atmospheric type piece.
Notes:
I’m not thrilled with the strings (the part that only shows up once in the piece). I need to blend them more. They’re too abrupt.
I think the “percussion” may get too loud towards the end…

This was the first track i demo'd for this year's RPM but i just got round to tidying it up and adding the third verse. A bit of a feel good record!
