Skinner's Ridge (RPM)

This time paying homage to grandpa. Did I miss any dead folks out this album?

I often stop and think of William
Up on Skinners Ridge
He passed me on his way back down
As I passed from being a kid
A shame you’d say
But aint that the way
Things go, and none the less
I know what he was and what he did for me
And I know that I was blessed

I was feeling out of place and trying to find a place to hasten
My recovery but everywhere I went the people subtley
Made me feel I was missing something dumbing down my sense of self
So much so I’d leave their homes feeling like I was someone else
I climbed the mountain and the doubting started stopping

Isn’t this jolly.

Skinner’s Ridge. Where memories live.
Sat on the hillside
Thats where I long to be
Skinners Ridge. The cemetry is
The basest of tributes
To a man.

Everytime I need to hear myself think I go sit there
Gave the ridge the name of Skinner cos sometimes I think of him there
Not only him I mostly think of when we were altogether
Boosted by the memories to face more stormy weather
I sometimes even feel as though there’s someone up there with me

Isn’t this jolly.

Skinner’s Ridge. Where Memories Live.
The view from the hillside
That’s all I long to see
Skinner’s Ridge. The cemetry is
The basest of tributes to a man.

Kick-arse number, love the guitar. The vocals are primo, great high notes. This would be a great song to hear live in a club.
