Adventure_(27EDO)

This is the 27th song in my album, Edolian, where I make a song in every EDO from 1 to 27.

In this song I used a scale which I have dubbed the “Adventure Scale”, which has the scale degrees: 0 5 10 11 16 21 22 26 27. It is a really interesting scale, because it has a few 27edo steps. One step of 27edo is very small, and so it creates a sort of effect where you have a few notes that are subsitutable with eachother but if played sequentially it creates an interesting effect. Played together, it creates a sort of “fake unison”, which I don’t use much in this piece, but I may use it in other pieces. For the time signature, I used 19/8, which is more a measure of 11/8 followed by 4/4. It’s suprisingly hard to improvise in 19/8, so instead of doing that, I just threw notes together until it worked.

So, next song will be in 28EDO, which is effectively 14EDO with quartertones. It has a few interesting MOS scales, but I might use it as 14EDO with embellishments instead.
