Riemann_(26EDO)

This is 26th song in my album, Edolian, where I make a song in every EDO from 1 to 31.

When I started I didn’t really know what to do with this. So, I experimented with a few different scales and things, and I found one I liked. The scale degrees are: 0 4 7 11 14 17 21. It’s effectively a minor scale, and it sounds relatively nice in 26EDO. It’s not the best for harmony, as the fifth in 26EDO is pretty flat, so in this song I mostly just stacked melodies and basslines ontop of eachother, aswell as doing some call and response things. Overall, I’d say it turned out pretty well.

This is the section where I talk about the next song, which will be 27EDO. Same as this one, I’m not really sure what to do for it. It is apparently good with octave shrinking, but I’m going to limit myself to using pure EDOs. That means I’m stuck with some rather unpure intervals. I’m probably going to try to do the same thing I did with this, just try a bunch of scales until I find something that works. After 27, there’s 28, which is effectively 14 with quarter tones. So I’m probably mostly going to write in 14 with some embellishments, or possibly use an MOS scale in 28edo. Anyways, that’s two days away, and so I have to figure out a way to use 27 first.
