The_Descent_(22EDO)

This is the 22nd track in my album, Edolian, where I sequentially make a song in every EDO from 1 to 31.

So, 22edo has some nice properties, having really good just intervals. However, it also has a lot of MOS scales listed on the xen.wiki page, and I tried out a few until I found one I liked. The one here is Magic[7], which is effectively harmonic minor but somehow even darker. It’s a really interesting sound, and because of the spacing of the notes it doesn’t have the usual iconic minor third inbetween the 6th and the 7th, which makes it sound different from typical 12edo harmonic minor. Magic[7] is a really interesting scale, and I used it to much effect here.

Next song is 23edo, which is quarter tones, but not quite. I don’t know much about it, and I’ve only heard 1 song in it, so it will be interesting to see how that turns out. I might try to compose a typical quarter tone composition in it, however it will feel a bit distorted, which could create an interesting sound. We’ll see.
